Orthodontic Conditions

Crowded Teeth is one of the most common orthodontic problems faced today, affecting around 25% of women and 15% of men. Crowded teeth is when there is not enough room in the mouth for all the teeth to align in.

An overbite is a form of malocclusion (misalignment of teeth) it is when the upper front teeth cover more of the lower front teeth more than considered ideal.

An underbite occurs when your mouth is closed and the lower jaw protrudes forward. This causes the lower jaw and teeth to sit in front of the upper teeth. An underbite is a type of malocclusion (misalignment of teeth).

Crossbite occurs when there is an abnormal relationship of one or more teeth of one arch to the opposing tooth or teeth of the other dental arch.

Gap teeth also known as Diastema is a space or a gap between two teeth. The gap commonly appears between the two upper front teeth but can form between any teeth in the mouth.

Crooked teeth are teeth that don’t correctly fit into the dental arch and may appear twisted, rotated or out of place anywhere in the mouth.

Protruding teeth is when the upper front teeth sit too far forward compared to the bottom row. Also known as buck teeth.

Most people have 32 permanent teeth, however on some occasions individuals can have one or more missing adult teeth.
