Dr. Peter Wilkinson – Specialist Orthodontist

Dr Peter Wilkinson completed his degree in Dentistry in 1989. After working in general dentistry in New Zealand, Dr Wilkinson then moved to the United Kingdom in 1993 working for the National Health Service and private practices. After 8 year in general dentistry, he completed a three-year Master’s Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2000.

Working extensively in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Dr Wilkinson then moved to Australia, Gold Coast in 2001, later, in 2004 establishing Wilkinson Orthodontics. Dr Wilkinson passion for helping people whilst creating confident smiles has been his primary focus, specialising in getting to know his patients individually and approaching each patient with care and consideration.

Dr Wilkinson is a member of the Australian Dental Association and Australian Society of Orthodontics and regularly attends orthodontic conferences and continued professional development training course to stay current with the latest advances in orthodontics.

When Dr Wilkinson is not looking after his patients he enjoys participating in family activities. Another favourite pastime of Dr Wilkinson is restoring old Kombi’s and vintage cars. Feel free to ask him about it but be warned it might be hard to stop him once he gets going on that subject! Another thing you may not know about Dr Wilkinson is that he is an accomplished musician and plays bass guitar.

Dr. Ana Simanovic – Specialist Orthodontist

Dr Ana Simanovic completed her Bachelor of Dental Science degree with first class honors at the University of Queensland in 2003. She spent the next thirteen years honing her extensive general dental skills whilst working in private practices throughout South-East Queensland.

In 2017 Dr Simanovic was able to fulfil a lifelong professional ambition to embark on post-graduate orthodontic training at the University of Queensland, completing her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry specialising in Orthodontics in 2019. Throughout her many years in general practice, Dr. Simanovic continued to advance her skills in the dental field, by attended numerous national and international dental conferences to cultivate a predictable, yet conservative multidisciplinary approach towards aesthetic dentistry. 

Dr. Simanovic holds current professional memberships including the Australian Society of Orthodontists, Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the World Federation of Orthodontists. In addition, Dr Simanovic is Board Certified by the Australian Orthodontic Board. 

Patient focus is Dr. Simanovic’s first priority insisting on a caring, gentle and meticulous approach towards treatment, whilst working hard to provide her patients with a desired outcome.  She loves getting to know the patients and their families during treatment and seeing their delight when their new smiles are revealed. Interactions with patients and families was one of the significant factors in determining why Dr Simanovic chose to became a specialist Orthodontist. 

When not chasing perfect similes, Dr. Simanovic – an avid animal lover – likes to volunteer at animal hospitals, keep active and spend time with family and friends. 

Dr. Christopher Franco – Specialist Orthodontist

Dr Christopher Franco completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2014 in North Queensland at James Cook University. He later completed a full-time 3 year orthodontic residency to achieve specialist registration, obtaining a Doctorate in Orthodontics in 2018 from the University of Queensland.

Dr Franco has previously worked in private practice on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane before joining Wilkinson Orthodontics.

Dr Franco ensures his patients are provided with a high standard of orthodontic treatment. He prides himself on attention to detail and going the extra mile. It is essential to him that his patient’s orthodontic concerns are addressed and their treatments catered specific to their individual needs.

Dr Franco continually works to maintain the highest level of orthodontic expertise, education and training in order to provide not only the latest in orthodontic technologies and materials, but also evidence-based practice.

Dr Franco is a certified member with the Australasian Orthodontic Board (AOB). He holds membership with the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO), American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) and Australian Dental Association (ADA).

When Chris is not looking after his orthodontic patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. If Chris is not reading, he is travelling, walking his dogs or finding that next cafe with great coffee.
